For children

Children at the dentist — calm and fear-free

Get-to-know-us visits, patience, colourful fillings and nitrous oxide sedation for those who are really scared.

For little ones

The dentist? It can be an adventure.

Get-to-know-us visits, patience and — when needed — nitrous oxide sedation. After a whiff of “laughing gas” our youngest patients tell us they flew a rocket or danced at a ball.

The first visit — how to prepare your child

  1. 01

Come for a get-to-know-us visit before anything hurts — the first meeting should be a pleasant one.

  2. 02

Be positive, but don’t promise “it won’t hurt at all”.

  3. 03

Don’t share your own bad dentist memories in front of your child.

  4. 04

At the first visit we only look at teeth and bite if your child is happy for us to.

  5. 05

We’ll talk about hygiene: how to brush a child’s teeth and how often to come for check-ups (every 3–4 months).

Children’s dentistry

Children’s dentistry

Get-to-know-us visits, colourful fillings and sealants — without fear.

We want a trip to the dentist to feel like a small adventure. We start with a get-to-know-us visit: your child meets the room, the chair and the team, and — if they’re happy to — we take a look at their teeth and bite. Nothing is ever forced.

  • get-to-know-us visits
  • fillings in baby teeth (colourful ones too)
  • dressings and extractions of baby teeth
  • fluoride varnish and fissure sealants
  • silver nitrate treatment
Nitrous oxide sedation

Nitrous oxide sedation

“Laughing gas” for children and adults who are anxious about the dentist.

A mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen, breathed through a small mask, relaxes and calms — while the dentist stays in contact with the patient the whole time. The dose is adjusted as we go. Children often dream of flying a rocket, dancing at a princess ball or swimming. Sedation also helps patients with a strong gag reflex during impressions.

  • treating children under sedation
  • treating adults with dental anxiety
  • impressions for patients with a strong gag reflex
Baby teeth — how to care for them

Baby teeth — how to care for them

Baby teeth decay more easily than permanent ones — care starts with the very first tooth.

  • Brush your child’s teeth together after meals.
  • Give sweets after a meal, not as a snack in between.
  • Don’t soothe your child with sweets or sugary drinks.
  • At night and after brushing, offer only plain water.
  • Dental check-ups every 3–4 months.
Fissure sealing — a shield for children’s teeth

Fissure sealing — a shield for children’s teeth

A sealant closes the grooves where decay most often starts. It’s completely painless.

  • Cuts the risk of decay by up to 90%.
  • Protects spots a toothbrush can hardly reach.
  • The smooth surface makes daily brushing easier.
  • Best done right after the permanent molars come through — usually at age 6–7.
